About

My name is Rebecca Thistlethwaite. I live in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge of Oregon with my two kids. My background is diverse, but has mostly revolved around organic food production, agricultural education, and helping to creating a thriving local food system. I have been an avid athlete since about 6 years old- playing soccer, basketball, swimming, ski racing, cross country, and track. These days you can mostly find me hiking, trail running, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, or doing yoga or barre classes. I am committed to holistic mind-body-spirit wellness and believe that every single person on this planet deserves to enjoy optimal health. I have just completed my health and life coach certificate from the Health Coach Institute, an accredited program based in the United States with students from all over the world. In addition, I have a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Natural Resources Management and International Agricultural Development, along with significant training in Non-violent Communication and Compassionate Communication. My health coaching specialties include:

-Recovering from sports injuries, especially running

-Training for a 5K to marathon distance running

-Metabolic conditions, including Type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease

-Fasting and time-restricted eating

-Healthy, patient weight loss

-Paleo, Ketogenic, Low Carb, and whole food organic diets (but not dogmatic about diets, each person is unique in what allows them to thrive)

-Organic gardening and food production

-Affordable, simple scratch cooking and food preparation

-Meditation and mindfulness practices for stress reduction and manifesting your best self

**I am a health and life coach, not a trained medical practitioner. My work focuses around helping you change your habits to create your best life. I do not diagnose nor treat diseases. I would like to work in partnership with your physicians and medical specialists, but I am not a substitute for working with them.**
